Mali covers 1,240,192 km² on the new Equal Earth world map, 0.9% of all land on Earth. It ranks 24th of 237 countries worldwide and 8th in Africa. At 17° latitude Mercator only inflates Mali by about 10%, so the old and new maps largely agree on it, unlike the far north where Mercator's stretch is dramatic.
For scale, Mali is roughly the same size as Angola (1,246,700 km²).
You could fit 3 of Paraguay inside Mali.
