Chad covers 1,284,000 km² on the new Equal Earth world map, 0.9% of all land on Earth. It ranks 21st of 237 countries worldwide and 5th in Africa. At 15° latitude Mercator only inflates Chad by about 7%, so the old and new maps largely agree on it, unlike the far north where Mercator's stretch is dramatic.
For scale, Chad is roughly the same size as Peru (1,285,216 km²).
You could fit 3 of Paraguay inside Chad.
