Niger covers 1,267,000 km² on the new Equal Earth world map, 0.9% of all land on Earth. It ranks 22nd of 237 countries worldwide and 6th in Africa. At 17° latitude Mercator only inflates Niger by about 10%, so the old and new maps largely agree on it, unlike the far north where Mercator's stretch is dramatic.
For scale, Niger is roughly the same size as Chad (1,284,000 km²).
You could fit 3 of Paraguay inside Niger.
