Mozambique covers 799,380 km² on the new Equal Earth world map, 0.6% of all land on Earth. It ranks 36th of 237 countries worldwide and 16th in Africa. At 17° latitude Mercator only inflates Mozambique by about 10%, so the old and new maps largely agree on it, unlike the far north where Mercator's stretch is dramatic.
For scale, Mozambique is roughly the same size as Turkey (783,562 km²).
You could fit 3 of United Kingdom inside Mozambique.
