Gabon covers 267,668 km² on the new Equal Earth world map, 0.2% of all land on Earth. It ranks 77th of 237 countries worldwide and 30th in Africa. At 1° latitude Mercator only inflates Gabon by about 0.01%, so the old and new maps largely agree on it, unlike the far north where Mercator's stretch is dramatic.
For scale, Gabon is roughly the same size as New Zealand (268,838 km²).
You could fit 3 of Azerbaijan inside Gabon.
