Benin covers 114,763 km² on the new Equal Earth world map, 0.1% of all land on Earth. It ranks 103rd of 237 countries worldwide and 40th in Africa. At 10° latitude Mercator only inflates Benin by about 3%, so the old and new maps largely agree on it, unlike the far north where Mercator's stretch is dramatic.
For scale, Benin is roughly the same size as Cuba (109,884 km²).
