Brazil covers 8,510,346 km² on the new Equal Earth world map, 6.2% of all land on Earth. It ranks 5th of 237 countries worldwide and 1st in South America. At 11° latitude Mercator only inflates Brazil by about 4%, so the old and new maps largely agree on it, unlike the far north where Mercator's stretch is dramatic.
For scale, Brazil is roughly the same size as Australia (7,741,220 km²).
You could fit 3 of Argentina inside Brazil.
