Guatemala covers 108,889 km² on the new Equal Earth world map, 0.1% of all land on Earth. It ranks 108th of 237 countries worldwide and 8th in North America. At 16° latitude Mercator only inflates Guatemala by about 8%, so the old and new maps largely agree on it, unlike the far north where Mercator's stretch is dramatic.
For scale, Guatemala is roughly the same size as Cuba (109,884 km²).
