Dominican Republic covers 48,670 km² on the new Equal Earth world map, 0.036% of all land on Earth. It ranks 131st of 237 countries worldwide and 11th in North America. At 19° latitude Mercator only inflates Dominican Republic by about 12%, so the old and new maps largely agree on it, unlike the far north where Mercator's stretch is dramatic.
For scale, Dominican Republic is roughly the same size as Denmark (42,947 km²).
