Yemen covers 455,503 km² on the new Equal Earth world map, 0.3% of all land on Earth. It ranks 55th of 237 countries worldwide and 14th in Asia. At 16° latitude Mercator only inflates Yemen by about 8%, so the old and new maps largely agree on it, unlike the far north where Mercator's stretch is dramatic.
For scale, Yemen is roughly the same size as Sweden (450,295 km²).
You could fit 3 of Bangladesh inside Yemen.
