Sri Lanka covers 67,240 km² on the new Equal Earth world map, 0.049% of all land on Earth. It ranks 123rd of 237 countries worldwide and 35th in Asia. At 8° latitude Mercator only inflates Sri Lanka by about 2%, so the old and new maps largely agree on it, unlike the far north where Mercator's stretch is dramatic.
For scale, Sri Lanka is roughly the same size as Ireland (70,273 km²).
