Laos covers 236,800 km² on the new Equal Earth world map, 0.2% of all land on Earth. It ranks 84th of 237 countries worldwide and 22nd in Asia. At 19° latitude Mercator only inflates Laos by about 11%, so the old and new maps largely agree on it, unlike the far north where Mercator's stretch is dramatic.
For scale, Laos is roughly the same size as United Kingdom (244,376 km²).
You could fit 3 of Czechia inside Laos.
