Russia dwarfs India: about 17,098,246 km² against 3,287,263 km². At true size Russia is about 5.2× the size of India. The whole of India fits into Russia roughly 5 times.
India sits in Asia, Russia in Europe. On the old Mercator map the latitude gap distorted how large each felt beside the other; at true size the answer is simply 5.2×.
The old map muddied it further: Mercator inflates India about 1.2× and Russia about 6.1×, so on a Mercator-style map this pair appears 26.8× apart instead of the true 5.2×.
India fits 5× into Russia.
